IMPORTANT.
CORRIGENDA TO THE COLONIAL SERVICE RECRUIT-
MENT SERIES OF MEMORANDA.
Modifications of Terms and Conditions of Service.
In view of the financial stringency from which Colonial Administrations are suffering in common with Governments else- where, it has been necessary to modify in some instances the terms and conditions of service shown in this Memorandum.
The following statement contains a note as complete as possible of the temporary measures already introduced or at present contemplated:-
BRITISH GUIANA.
Travelling and subsistence allowances have been reduced and various specific local allowances have been abolished. The regula- tions governing the grant of assisted passage allowances have also been suspended.
BRITISH HONDURAS.
A temporary levy of 10 per cent. on all salaries is in operation. Subsistence allowances payable to public officers travelling on duty have been reduced by one half.
BRITISH SOLOMON ISLANDS PROTECTORATE.
The rates of subsistence allowance have been reduced.
CEYLON.
Transport, subsistence, and lodging allowances have been reduced by approximately 25 per cent.
CYPRUS.
Subsistence allowances and mileage rates for private motor cars have been reduced.
FIJI.
Travelling and subsistence allowances have been reduced by approximately 20 per cent.
GILBERT AND ELLICE ISLANDS COLONY.
The rates of subsistence allowance have been reduced.
JAMAICA.
The rates of travelling and subsistence allowances have been reduced.
